Letterly MCP Server
Dictate anywhere with Letterly, then find, rewrite and translate your voice notes in your AI chat.
This repository hosts documentation only. Letterly MCP is a hosted remote server, so there is nothing to install or run locally.
What it does
Connect your Letterly account to an AI assistant (GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and others) and ask it to:
- search and read your voice notes
- create, edit and delete notes
- rewrite a note in another style or translate it
- manage your custom rewrite prompts
Setup
- Server URL:
https://mcp.letterly.app/mcp - Transport: Streamable HTTP
- Sign-in: OAuth with your Letterly account. You'll be asked to sign in the first time you connect.
VS Code / GitHub Copilot
Add this to .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace (or to your user MCP configuration):
{
"servers": {
"letterly": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://mcp.letterly.app/mcp"
}
}
}
Then start the server from the MCP view and sign in to Letterly when prompted.
Other clients
In Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any other MCP client, add a custom (remote) MCP server with the URL above and sign in when asked.
Example prompts
- "Find my notes about the marketing plan from last week"
- "Rewrite my latest note as a short email"
- "Translate my note about the trip into German"
